Holding the 59th Commission for Social Development
The 59th Session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD59) was held from 8 to 17 2021 at the United Nations in New York. ANO "International Alliance of Strategic Projects BRICS" and NGO "Sail of Hope" were also participants. The priority topic was: «Socially just transition towards sustainable development: the role of digital technologies on social development and well-being of all» so this was a very important event for us.
Today, digital technologies are used, used from the current epidemiological situation, difficult to miss, digital technologies used in the deep deformation of the global society, the digital divide within countries and between them. In addition, ties between generations and genders have weakened.
Preparation for the session was extremely serious. At the exit, we witnessed many blocks: High-level panel discussion on a given priority topic. Of course, in the course of the discussion, a number of issues are formed, on which a separate discussion was held. In her closing remarks, Commission Chair María del Carmen Squeff (Argentina) thanked delegates and civil society representatives alike for actively participating in open, frank and interactive discussions. In addition, an Interactive Dialogue with senior system officials, the Multilateral Forum and the Civil Society Forum were held.
The Commission single out the role of special practices in social development and social well-being for all, with a focus on disadvantaged, marginalized or communities. Recommendations were also given on how countries can make further progress on these issues. We fully accept these recommendations and hope that together we will overcome any difficulties.
