On November 29, 2019, representatives of Russian business, government and society will share their experiences on inclusive employment at the UN European Office in Geneva. This issue is put today on the agenda of leaders of states and companies and is becoming an important principle of entrepreneurial activity.
By ratifying the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in May 2012, Russia joined the global inclusion process, creating its own and adapting international practices. Due to the situation in the world in recent years, the Russian experience is practically unknown to the international community.
The organizers of the event for the first time set themselves the task of introducing the world community to Russian inclusive practices and supporting a constructive dialogue in the context of partnerships between NGOs of the BRICS countries, including on the eve of the upcoming Russian Presidency in BRICS.
The development of the Diversity & Inclusion concept in Russia implies the inclusion of people with disabilities in society not only as employees of companies, but also as buyers, as well as the creation of adaptive products and services with a good design for clients with disabilities.
This approach opens up a global market for 1.3 million people with an annual disposable income of $ 8 billion. According to official data, only 12 million people with disabilities live in Russia alone.
Representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Government of Moscow, Sberbank, Vimpelcom (Beeline), Abilympics National Championship, Space of Equal Opportunities, Everland will take part in the conversation, as well as The Valuable 500 global movement, which has set itself the goal – to invite 500 global corporations to place disability on the agenda of the company's management.
During the event, the first Russian brands will officially join the Valuable 500 movement.

The modern concept of inclusion involves the integration of the efforts of the state, business, civil society, affected populations and international organizations. The creation of effective alliances of all stakeholders and putting the employment of people with disabilities on the agenda of leaders of States and enterprises are becoming an important principle of business activity in the aspect of human rights.
